The public site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and contains no contact forms. When you load a page, the web server automatically processes standard technical access data required to deliver it and to keep the service secure:
This processing is based on a legitimate interest in operating and securing the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Access logs are stored only briefly and are not combined with other data or used to identify you.
The website is hosted on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH (Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany) in a data centre within the European Union. Hetzner processes the technical access data described above on our behalf as a processor.
Three subdomains — facet.benborowski.de, horizon.benborowski.de and parallax.benborowski.de — host private, access-restricted applications reachable only with a username and password. They are intended for personal research use. The same technical access logging as above applies; no additional personal data about visitors is collected there.
This site links to external profiles (GitHub, LinkedIn, ResearchGate) and to DOI references. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies; we have no influence over their data processing.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and objection, as well as the right to data portability. You may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Austria, the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde). To exercise your rights, contact contact@benborowski.de.
